AFF Tip of the Week

Week of June 11, 2006 - As Ernest Schwiebert wrote about his book "Matching the Hatch" a true angler must be able to realize what the fish are feeding on during any given season or weather condition. For example my Dad and I recently fished in Westerly, Rhode Island and were fortunate enough to be there during the worm hatch. This hatch happens once a year and makes the stripers go nuts! I handed my Dad a worm that had just hatched and he tied a fly that best resembled the pink and red worm. We had a great day and it was all because we Matched the Hatch!
